It’s often said that life’s greatest triumphs emerge from adversity and this is especially true for Heyday Medical - a medical organisation dedicated to providing holistic solutions for managing health conditions.
For co-founders and siblings Dr. Jim Connell and Phoebe Macleod, Heyday Medical began as a personal journey to find alternative treatments that could offer their mother respite and a better quality of life after her pancreatic cancer diagnosis.
Today, their mission continues alongside Alastair Macleod, Sam Holt and Dr. Andrew Wilson - a team committed to transforming healthcare through innovative and patient-focused approaches.
Heyday Medical addresses a wide range of health conditions including chronic pain, insomnia, cancer management, endometriosis and anxiety, offering unique and holistic treatments prescribed by over 380 medical professionals to more than 6,000 patients nationwide.
According to co-founder and Finance Officer Alastair Macleod, Heyday’s mission extends beyond growing its own organisation. It aims to advance the medical sector by promoting understanding of alternative, cannabinoid-based treatments.
“For us, it’s about more than growing a business. It’s about raising awareness of alternative therapies, driving research and development and building trust by setting ethical standards to reduce stigma around these treatments,” said Alastair.
Alastair hopes the Awards will help shine a light on Heyday Medical’s work and foster public understanding of the benefits of alternative treatments.
