Both Nest Hub (2nd gen) and Nest Hub Max have Google Assistant and Chromecast built-in, plus intelligent voice match technology. Here are the main differences:

  • The Nest Hub (2nd gen) has a 7-inch touchscreen and full range speakers.
  • The Nest Hub Max has the bigger 10-inch touchscreen and includes a 6.5 megapixel camera, with a wide-field view and face-matching technology. Nest Hub Max also has a stereo speaker system with woofers and tweeters.

It depends on what kind of hands-free help you want.

For example if you want to be able to watch shows, listen to your playlist and get updates while you're busy in the kitchen, then a Google Nest Hub or Nest Hub Max could be ideal to start your smart home. 

They both have quality sound and great screens, plus with the built-in Nest Cam on the Nest Hub Max you can make video calls with Google Meet to friends and family.

If you're more about the music and just want to hear your favourite tunes when and where you like, then a Nest Mini could be a great choice. You can combine them and add more speakers for real stereo sound and music that follows you around the house, too.

Yes, you can set up and manage your Google Nest Cams and Nest Doorbell via the Google Nest app on your phone.

You do not need to have a Nest Hub or Nest Hub Max. However, having a Nest Hub display located centrally in your home will allow you to see the feed from your Nest Cam or Nest Doorbell without reaching for your mobile phone. 

Yes! You'll just need to download the Google Home app for iOS and make sure that both the Nest and Apple devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

You can also download the Google Assistant app on your iPhone too.
