Our Telstra GO Repeaters are network coverage extension devices that maximise your mobile signal in areas of low coverage. Telstra GO Repeaters receive a signal from a nearby Telstra mobile base station before amplifying and distributing this improved mobile signal to the desired area via an antenna.
For these devices to work, there needs to be a low signal level, which the Telstra GO Repeater with an external antenna can amplify to provide improved signal strength and/or quality.
These devices will:
We recommend all Telstra GO Repeater devices are professionally installed, especially Stationary units. Your online order (for stationary – home/building/office) will offer you a process to activate a Telstra professional installation process.
Telstra only use qualified technicians and approved quality antennas and fittings for the installation of Telstra GO Repeaters.
Our dedicated Telstra GO Repeater team can be contacted on 1800 305 307 and can assist existing Telstra GO Repeater customers who have purchased their device from Telstra.
We strongly recommend that you ensure the Telstra GO Repeater is first registered on the Wave app before seeking support.
The technology that underpins mobile networks uses radio waves to send signals and the strength and quality of these signals are impacted by the world around them. As a result, the quality of coverage customers experience will be different in different places.
Telstra invests to deliver the best possible mobile network experience to customers in regional and remote locations.
Despite the higher costs involved in building and operating a mobile network in regional and remote locations, mobile network operators in Australia have nationally consistent prices so that customers outside cities and regional centres aren’t left to fund the enormous investments required to provide a service.
The Telstra mobile coverage maps have been created using tools that predict the likely areas of outdoor coverage. We have not individually tested every location within the identified outdoor coverage areas for coverage.
The quality of your experience using the Telstra mobile network can be affected by the number of people using the network, the type of technology you’re using, and the performance of things beyond our control like the capacity of a particular website or service.
Sometimes, areas beyond the edge of network can also have coverage. This is usually thanks to specific local conditions that support a signal extending further than expected. The quality of this coverage is unpredictable and vulnerable to change over time, so we do not include it in our published maps.
The coverage you receive depends on your location, the specifications or capabilities of the mobile device you're using. How far you are from the nearest base station, as well as obstructions like buildings, vehicles, trees, and hills can all reduce the quality of coverage available for your mobile handset, tablet or mobile broadband device. Check out new handsets.
There are lots of factors that determine the quality of coverage inside a building, including ones that can’t be changed such as its location and the materials it has been built from. If you connect your mobile device to a fixed service through Wi-Fi, you can then make a call via Wi-Fi Calling or send/receive an SMS via Wi-Fi SMS.

Explore the latest handsets as your current handset may need to be updated to a newer device.
Alternatively, a Telstra GO Repeater can also help improve your coverage.
We can't guarantee mobile coverage, so a mobile phone should never be relied upon as your only way of communicating in emergency or time-critical situations.
Customers are encouraged to use fixed-line phone and internet services in emergency situations.
Fewer bars don’t indicate less service, and there are no standards for signal bars. The way signal bars are displayed on your device reflects vendor manufacturing decisions, and almost every device is different. Signal bars also vary between mobile technologies. 4G, is a more advanced technology than 3G, meaning 4G can operate at lower signals. If you notice fewer bars when moving from a 3G area to 4G area this doesn’t mean any coverage has been lost, it’s simply a reflection of the more advanced technology in use.
