    How do I activate an optimiser?

    You can activate Mobile Speed or Latency Optimisers in My Telstra.

    1. Sign in to My Telstra
    2. Choose your mobile service, then Extras
    3. Select Speed Optimiser or Latency Optimiser and follow the prompts to activate. It may take up to an hour to activate.​

    Important

    You must be on an Upfront mobile or mobile data plan to add either the Mobile Speed or Latency Optimisers. You also need a compatible device.

    Can I use Mobile Speed Optimiser and Mobile Latency Optimiser at the same time?

    No, you can only use one at a time. But you can change between them at any time in My Telstra​.

    What’s the difference between Mobile Speed Optimiser and Mobile Latency Optimiser?

    Mobile Speed Optimiser can help with improve download speeds for high-bandwidth tasks in busy areas or during times of peak usage. Mobile Latency Optimiser can help with a more consistent and lower latency for time-sensitive applications (like online gaming) that use the User Datagram Protocol (UDP).

    Consider using them for:

    When will I see the additional charge on my invoice?

    You’ll see a charge on your next invoice, but also a credit for the free 30-day trial. After the trial ends, a $10 charge for your Optimiser will appear on your ongoing invoices.

    How do I check and manage the performance of my optimiser?

    You can check the performance in My Telstra.

    1. Sign in to My Telstra
    2. Choose your mobile service, then Extras
    3. Select Speed Optimiser or Latency Optimiser.
       

    Speed Optimiser will show average download speeds and Latency Optimiser allows you to track your optimised traffic.
     

    Important

    Data takes 48 hours to update. It will show to the nearest decimal point and doesn’t include capped mobile data speeds.

    How do I cancel Mobile Speed Optimiser or Mobile Latency Optimiser?

    You can cancel any time in My Telstra.

    2. Choose your mobile service, then Extras
    3. Select Speed Optimiser or Latency Optimiser and follow the prompts to cancel.
