Telstra’s investment in the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards stretches back 34 years and over the last four decades, the Awards have grown in status and significance. They provide an important showcase for the unique stories, outstanding creativity and diverse talents of Australia’s finest Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists.

It’s exciting to see this ancient expression of cultural identity continue to evolve, with some artists using new technologies to tell stories that are thousands of years old. The work is always extraordinary as well as inspiring, thought provoking and heartwarming. It is a privilege to celebrate such incredible talent and share these stories across Australia.
